5 ways to kickstart your acting career - right now!!!!!!
Professional Actor Since: XXXX What does this mean? It is time to start calling yourself what you really are. It's time you start seeing what you want in your life. NO one is going to start believing that you are a professional actor unless you do. So I want you to create a sign. That Sign has your name on it. Right under it write Professional Actor. And under that write Since 2014. Start right now!!! Start believing. Start filling the things you look at with affirmations of where you want to go. On the right is what my sign says. Notice that the date isn't very long ago. Because I didn't think I was worthy of calling myself a Professional Actor.
Write your goals down! Right now, go write your goals down. See them. Know them. Believe them. All the reading I have done all says the same thing: Write Your Goals Down! It gets in there deeper.
Make a Casting Site your Homepage! When I open my browser the first page that pops us is the audition page at Theatre In Chicago page. So then I know what is being posted at all times. I can see what is newly posted. This small action will yield you more auditions - simply because you will start submitting more and more which increases your chances!!!!
Go See Another Actor's Show! We as actors know alot of other actors. And those actors are in shows. A fairly cost effective way to go see a show is to ask them if you can be invited to Final Dress or to previews. Just being in the environment will begin your creative juices. Plus if it's a Final Dress maybe you will meet the director or the producer? Happens to me all the time!!
Breathe! Meditate!! Okay these are two. But these simple actions that don't cost anything can really start you along an amazing path. What if you spent the entire time in the waiting room closing your eyes and just breathing? You would walk into that room connected and present in the moment. What about meditating in the morning! I bet you would go through the day with more energy and more focus! Try it! Prove me wrong!!
